About the role:

The Health Service Business Partner (Hospitals and Health Services) role is responsible for understanding the department's strategic financial investment in Victoria's health system, health service financial sustainability and being the interface between the Department of Health, Health Services and the Department of Treasury.

Against the context of increased financial sustainability challenges for Victoria's health services, this position is part of a specialist branch that coordinates the allocation of financial resources across Victoria's health system and actively monitors sector budget expenditure.

The Business Partner role is responsible for analysing funding adequacy for investment decisions and understanding the key drivers across the allocated portfolio of Health Services.

How you'll make a difference:

  • Drive optimal financial decision-making through the provision of timely, accurate and useful information to management.
  • Monitor the impact of operational activities on financial performance and understand the key drivers with a focus on emerging trends and risks.
  • Deliver regular forecasting based on trend analysis providing an independent portfolio view.
  • Provide financial insight and advice to Executive to optimise financial performance.
  • Build quality relationships with key senior stakeholders at Health Services as the key Departmental contact.
  • Actively model the department's vision and values arising from demonstrating collaborative relationships, appropriate and effective governance, responsive leadership, community focus, developing our workforce, and accountability and effectiveness.
  • Provide timely and authoritative advice and develop open and effective communication strategies including collection of highly complex, contentious or sensitive information on matters of staff or business.
