About the Role:

The Health Safety and Wellbeing (HSW) Partner is responsible for the provision of timely specialist advice and support to managers and staff across a broad range of Health, Safety and Wellbeing issues. This role will provide an opportunity to work with a range of internal and external stakeholders to make a difference to Health and Safety across Melba. You will be integral in developing and implementing policies, procedures, systems, and improvement projects. Working with our injury management and specialist manual handling ergonomist, you will be providing practical subject matter advice, conducting risk assessments, and coaching our managers around HSW investigations and inspections. You will be a touchpoint working closely with our HSRs and safety committees to build a culture of consultation at Melba around health, safety, and wellbeing improvements. You will be working with our teams around emergency management and business continuity planning to continually improve our capability and response.

Does this sound like you?

  • Do you have a qualification in health and safety, or relevant experience?
  • Are you an allied health, health or emergency personnel who would like to make a move into health and safety?
  • Do you have great interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills?
  • Do you work well collaboratively with a range of people from different backgrounds?
  • Do you have solid computer skills using Microsoft packages?
  • Do you like working on a variety of projects and initiatives?
  • Do you have a passion for safety improvements?

A background within aged care, health or disability sectors is not essential but preferred.

Requirements:
A current NDIS Worker Screening and Working with Children Check (we can support you through the process of obtaining one or both checks if you don't already have them).
