About the Role

As the Head of Venue Planning, you will be responsible for the seamless coordination and management of performances and activities across our iconic precinct. You'll oversee the scheduling and optimal utilisation of multiple venues, ensuring a balance of programming is achieved. You will foster positive relationships with stakeholders and provide advice on venue activity and broader industry trends to guide Arts Centre Melbourne's strategic direction.

Full Time ongoing position. Band 5.2 Salary $131,127.36 per annum plus superannuation.

Your Qualifications, Skills and Experience

  • Relevant qualification in arts, event or venue management, or equivalent professional experience in the entertainment industry, or operations management of a performing arts centre.
  • Experience negotiating and delivering revenue generating contracts within the creative industries, including a demonstrated ability to identify and maximise commercial opportunities
  • Experience delivering a strategic approach to venue occupancy ensuring optimal financial, relationship, artistic and audience outcomes
  • Advanced understanding of event delivery processes in a major performing arts environment, and ability to identify and implement continuous process improvements
  • Exceptional attention to detail and time management/prioritisation skills
  • Ability to deliver a high level of customer service in a high-pressure, outcomes-focussed environment, with a proactive approach to problem solving
  • Moderately to highly competent in using Ungerboeck (Momentus), Microsoft Office suite, DocuSign and Adobe programs
  • Established relationships with relevant industry networks, Presenters, promoters, artists and commercial partners is desirable

The Presenter Services team is responsible for the effective planning, sales and event management of activities by all hirers of Arts Centre Melbourne venues, as well as exploring opportunities for business growth and collaboration with our Presenters.
