Applications are sought for an exciting opportunity to lead the gynaecology service at Western Health, a tertiary hospital in outer metropolitan Melbourne, Victoria. Western Health services a rapidly expanding and highly diverse population in Melbourne's western suburbs and associated growth corridors.

Women's &
Children's services is responsible for the provision of in-patient and ambulatory care across maternity, gynaecology, neonatal and paediatric services. The division provides both elective and emergency care. Women's &
Children's aims to ensure the provision of safe, coordinated, person-centred, right care through a consistent, multi-disciplinary partnership approach. Women's &
Children's services at WH continues to expand and develop to meet the region's population growth, care complexities and demand. The service has seen significant growth over the last 4-5 years across all program areas.

The Division of Women's &
Children's Services provides care across a number of sites within the Western catchment, predominantly at Sunshine, but also at Bacchus Marsh/Melton and at the Footscray Hospital in collaboration with the surgical specialties. The New Footscray Hospital will open in 2025, and the New Melton campus in 2028-9. Currently the gynaecology unit has 55 - 60 operating lists/month.

The position would suit applicants seeking sessional (0.6 +) or full time appointments. Practice in either gynaecology only or across both obstetrics and gynaecology can be accommodated.

The HOU Gynaecology leads a team of over 40 specialists, most of whom work across the full O&
G scope of practice withthe majority having a specific area of expertise/interest, including laparoscopic surgery, pelvic floor disorders, reproductive choices, colposcopy, EPAS, IVF and adolescent gynaecology.

Subspecialist(s) in Gynaecological Oncology and Minimally Invasive Surgery also report to this position.

Applicants with specific scopes of practice within the field of Gynaecology are encouraged to apply. Research interests would be actively supported through both the Division and the Western Health Research Office.

The HOU works in close liaison with the W&
C Senior Leadership Group comprising HOUs of Obstetrics, Newborn Services, Paediatrics and MFM, a Director of O&
G and the Clinical Services Director.

Senior Operational, Nursing and Midwifery leaders are part of the leadership team, which focuses on collaborative project co-design and continuous quality improvement.

The Gynaecology Unit is a RANZCOG accredited training site for basic and advanced training involving 30+ registrars.
