YOUR NEW ROLE

This newly created role is responsible for leading the social and environmental impact function at the Opera House, driving collaboration and embedding sustainable thinking across the organisation, ensuring legislative compliance, and delivering strategic initiatives to inspire and bring about positive change internally, with key stakeholders and the broader community.

This senior leadership position oversees an integrated team working across environment, accessibility, equity and inclusion to collectively implement programs and activities to advance the Opera House's commitment to the UN Global Goals and its ambition to be Everyone's House.

ARE YOU THE ONE?

We are looking for:

  • Demonstrated leadership in driving organisational change towards sustainable practices.
  • Proven experience in developing and implementing sustainability/impact (social and/or environmental) strategies in complex environments.
  • Deep understanding of environmental, social and governance (ESG) principles and application.
  • Tertiary qualifications in a relevant discipline (e.G. sustainability, environment, organisational development, or related field).
  • Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills with proven ability to develop relationships across a wide and diverse range of stakeholders.
  • Ability to inspire, motivate and lead passionately through influence, exceptionally resourceful and resilient with strong problem solving/decision-making skills.
  • Demonstrated leadership in providing high-level advice and briefings (oral/written) at Executive and Board levels that are concise, informed and compelling.
