As Head of PDHPE, you will be responsible for leading best practice in the PDHPE classroom across K - 12, ensuring high quality outcomes for teaching &
learning and professional development.

The Head of PDHPE has the overall responsibility for:

  • The leadership of all aspects of the PDHPE department from K 12 including Culture, Curriculum, Staff, Students &
    Resources
  • Promoting Ravenswood's Mission for excellence in education for girls and the realisation of each child's potential, providing a balanced curriculum encompassing spiritual, academic, cultural, physical and practical areas of learning.
  • Active support of the ethos of the school as well as involvement in the wider school community, including participation in cocurricular activities


As the Head of PDHPE you will have the capacity to maintain, develop and promote a climate of excellence in student academic performance across K - 12.

Providing educational leadership for the PDHPE Department through active collaboration &
consultation, you will work closely with teachers and leaders to develop and articulate a clear vision for the department in line with the goals and visions of the school.


To be successful, you will possess:

  • Significant successful experience teaching PDHPE within a K
  • 12 context
  • A proven capacity to lead an engaged team of PDHPE Teachers to deliver a clear vision for the department
  • Ability to develop, implement and evaluate academic programs for NSW and IB Curriculum from Years K 1
  • Commitment to professional learning and developing teaching practice &
    leadership capabilitiesthrough inservices, active membership of professional associations, formal study &
    sharing of resources and expertise
  • Continuing interest in personal professional learning, keeping uptodate with educational research and best practice, especially in relation to Health &
    Physical Education
  • Eagerness to be involved within the wider school community, including participation in cocurricular activities
  • Willingness to work within, and support the Ethos of the Uniting Church


Experience and Qualifications:

  • Appropriate qualifications / eligibility to teach in NSW and meet all NESA requirements and Standards.
  • Maintain a valid NSW Working with Children Check.

Commencing Term 1, 2024, the Head of PDHPE is a permanent position and reports to the
Deputy Principal:

Teaching &
Learning.
