About the role -

The Head of Network Finance will create awareness that builds sustainable profitability and growth within LMG's network of broker businesses. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in empowering franchise agreement holders to make informed financial decisions, with a focus on larger businesses.

The successful candidate will have a strong accounting background and use their commercial acumen and experience to build ongoing relationships, gain trust and help businesses implement strategies that will grow their revenue, margins and bottom line.

Key objectives for this role:

  • Design an industry leading methodology for analysing the financial performance and profitability of a mortgage broking business.
  • Advising LMG franchise agreement holders on their financial performance and profitability.
  • Calculating LMG network benchmarks and metrics so that businesses can compare themselves to their peers, and identify areas of strength and weakness.
  • Designing, building and developing the necessary financial systems to capture and report financial performance and profitability for individual businesses and network benchmarks.
  • Communicating benchmarks and results to the network and industry to improve awareness and support financial decision making.
  • Identifying and facilitating network growth opportunities through recruitment, mergers, acquisitions and succession.

Key responsibilities -

LMG Network Profitability

  • Financial support to existing businesses via reviews of historical financial results to help businesses understand profitability by business unit and by individual broker
  • Build annual plans/budgets/strategies to help businesses grow and reach their potential
  • Conversion of businesses to the LMG profit systems
  • Complete a quarterly review with each business using the LMG profit systems and benchmarking analysis
  • Support business owners in their decision making in relation to all business transactions.

Network Growth

  • Assist LMG in ensuring potential recruits are sufficiently capitalised and the right fit for the proposed market.
  • Support to new recruits through ongoing meetings and financial analysis.
  • Assist business owners through the merger/acquisition/succession process and deal completion

To succeed in this role you will bring with you:

  • Minimum 4 years post completion of CA/CPA qualification
  • Minimum of 5 years in a senior commercial accounting/financial consulting role
  • Significant experience in core accounting and taxation
  • Solid understanding of business and legal structures (i.E. shareholder agreements, entity structuring)
  • Solid knowledge of Xero and prior use of analytical platforms
  • Communication and presentation skills of a high standard, including the ability to build rapport with different stakeholders quickly
  • Experience in supporting a broad range of clients
