About The Role

Thiess is seeking a financial expert to lead the charge in managing the Thiess Group's statutory financial reporting requirements, including overseeing the preparation of annual and half-year statutory accounts, and coordinating shareholder Thiess Financial Pack submissions.As the Head of Financial Reporting, you'll play a pivotal role in overseeing vital aspects of our financial operations, guaranteeing alignment with global standards.

Additionally, you will provide expert accounting assessments and advice on complex contracts and transactions to support the business operations. Furthermore, you will play a crucial role in enhancing our impact assessment of new accounting standards, including designing and delivering training and guidance tailored to our operations and accounting systems.

Additionally, you will :

Lead and manage the Thiess Group Annual Audit program, ensuring successful audits of all subsidiary entities.

Oversee the Thiess Group Statutory Account Compliance Program, ensuring timely completion and submission of required statutory accounts globally.

Engage with shareholder Finance Representatives, preparing and submitting Financial Reporting Packages and addressing queries.

Analyse and recommend the adoption of new accounting standards, developing processes and tools for efficient information collation.

Provide guidance on complex accounting assessments and deliver training materials for the wider finance team.

About You

You have a proven track record in effective leadership and management. Your seamless communication, both verbal and written, adds finesse to the flow of ideas and information across all levels of the organisation. You will take the initiative to champion innovation in a collaborative, diverse team environment. You will uphold unwavering integrity and contribute to a culture of trust.

Additionally, you have:

Formal Education:
CPA or CA qualification required.

Work Experience:
Minimum 10 years post-qualification experience, preferably in an accounting technical role or relevant industry reporting team, with experience in leading functional teams.

Technical Skills:
Strong IFRS accounting skills, proficiency in JDE, Excel, and MS Word, excellent communication and presentation abilities, effective time management and prioritisation skills.

Please note that this role will be a contract position for 15-18 month periodand applications for this role will close at midnight on Sunday 19 th May 2024.
