About the opportunity
The Head of Finance and Reporting (HFR) is responsible for ensuring the accountability and financial sustainability of the organisation to optimise delivery of services on behalf of our government shareholders and other customers.
The HFR collaborates with senior leaders to develop and execute new opportunities for the organisation that align with the strategic plan, ensuring that financial planning, pricing, costing, reporting, forecasting, and supporting financial processes are commercial in their outlook, timely and compliant with governance requirements and risk frameworks.
The position has responsibility for the Operational reporting and forecasting unit with an emphasis on non-financial activity drivers and service performance metrics. The unit is also involved with operational forecasts that are used to manage our major outsourcing contracts, and routine operational reporting on service and contract performance.

What we're looking for

  • 10+ years' relevant experience in government and commercial settings
  • Applied knowledge and skills as a finance leader in a service delivery environment.
  • Applied knowledge and skills building financial models, frameworks, systems, and policies.
  • Applied knowledge in the development and maintenance of non-financial KPIs in relation to operational and service reporting.
  • Proven ability to operate confidently and successfully at a senior finance executive level and reporting to senior executives, board, and stakeholder groups.
  • Knowledge of Australian government finance, risk and regulatory frameworks and policies.
  • Proven business acumen with experience in value-driven pricing, sourcing, contract negotiation and vendor management.
