Job Description
How will I help?
In this role as Head of Divisional Risk, Business and Wealth Division you'll provide effective 2nd line risk advice, oversight, and challenge, supporting the division to execute its risk strategy seamlessly.
You'll lead our Business &
Wealth Divisional non-financial risk oversight team, ensuring clear direction that aligns with our Risk strategy, Group strategy, and risk management policies and frameworks. As a key support to our B&
W Chief Risk Officer, you'll help build a high-performing Risk team that embodies our division's culture and achieves desired outcomes. Your responsibilities will include providing independent risk advice to our Leadership Team, participating in decision-making, and ensuring that non-financial risk remains consistent with our risk appetite.
You'll be responsible for divisional level non-financial risk oversight. You'll act as a role model for Westpac's risk culture and customer-centricity, influencing behaviors, and driving business engagement in risk management. You'll also be the primary contact for the Leadership Team of the BCM HUB and provide independent advice, oversight, and challenge regarding the management of non-financial risks at the divisional level.
Collaboration is at the heart of this role. You'll work closely with other B&
W dCRO Leadership Team members to ensure consistent application of non-financial risk management policies across the division. You'll also foster a strong culture of collaboration with other Risk Class Owners, Assurance, and Audit teams, promoting a united approach to risk management.

What do I need?
We're looking for someone with over 10 years of Operational Risk Experience in retail banking and financial services. Strong knowledge of Operational Risk Management Frameworks is essential, along with the ability to think and act strategically. While not essential, business knowledge of Business Lending and Wealth Management and data analytical skills will set you apart.
You have a solid Leadership background with effective people management skills in a corporate environment. With demonstratable experience in dealing with and presenting to senior stakeholders, showcasing your ability to navigate high-level discussions effectively. Your ability to influence others to drive results is paramount.
