The Head of Digital Services will lead APRA's digital strategy and transformation initiatives, whilst driving implementation and optimisation of digital platforms, applications and services.

The team

Reporting to Chief Information Officer, the role sits within the Technology and Data division (T&
D) and is a member of the Senior Leadership Team (SLT). The Technology and Data Division supports APRA with frameworks, technology and systems that support APRA's data and technology operations and its mandate to help protect the Australian community through data enabled decision making.

  • Other Agencies, such as ASIC, ATO, ABS, RBA and ACCC
  • Industry associations and other external stakeholders

Key responsibilities

  • Develop a clear and compelling digital strategy and transformation initiatives within Technology
  • Ensure that digital initiatives are fully integrated with the APRA's strategy, including leadership commitment
  • Drive the development and implementation and optimisation of digital platforms, applications and services in partnership with business leaders across APRA
  • Lead digital transformation initiatives to enhance customer experiences, operational efficiencies and business performance
  • Stay abreast of emerging innovative technology and trends to ensure APRA remains at the forefront of digital innovation
  • Manage the Technology Risks, which includes performance monitoring and controls are in place and effective. Lead the risk reduction program and the strategy to align Data Risk with risk appetite, including delivery of specified components of that strategy
  • Build strong and deep relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including senior leadership, extended leadership team and business partners
  • Work collaboratively with multiple technology, business and analytics teams.


About you

  • Visionary leader with extensive experience in digital services delivery and transformation and innovative technology
  • Proven track record in leading successful digital transformation projects and delivering innovative digital solutions
  • Experienced in working with agile methodologies and project management disciplines in complex, technical, and regulatory related environments
  • Significant experience in program and risk management practices and managing change
  • Strong understanding of digital technologies, including cloud, Microsoft product suite and AI
  • Exceptional stakeholder engagement and relationship skills, highly adept in managing a diverse group of senior stakeholders and relationships across industry and Government
  • Highly developed executive communication, leadership, negotiation, conflict resolution and interpersonal skills and the ability to represent APRA's view in a highly professional and sensitive manner
  • Highly developed people leadership skills with the demonstrated ability to develop and support a professional, collaborative and excellence-driven workplace culture.
