About this opportunity

As Head of Credit, you will provide and advocate best practice commercial credit management solutions. You will lead SilverChef's Australian and New Zealand credit functions, which is responsible for ensuring the organisation is operating within its risk parameters.

The location for this role is preferably Brisbane, however, we are open to considering candidates based in other locations within Australia.

Your top contributions in this role will include:

• Provide leadership and expertise on Credit Risk across the business, through the development and maintenance of robust risk &
  credit policies, frameworks and procedures. This includes the development of the underlying credit and risk management skills of the Credit Team.
• Partnering with Sales leaders to analyse and assess large exposure applications and provide recommendations that is in the best interest of SilverChef and the applicants.
• Owning and strengthening the credit approval and analysis process to ensure thorough evaluation of all applications.
• Achieve the desired risk outcomes in accordance with legislation, industry best practice and the Company's stated risk appetite.
• Accountable for strategy to uplift the risk and credit knowledge and capability across the wider organisation.
• Contributing to projects as required by the business.

What you'll need to succeed

• 10+ years' experience in financial services with exposure to commercial credit and risk management.
• Experience in leading a Commercial Credit Team and/or risk team within financial services.
• Expert understanding of credit analysis and policies as well as risk management principles and regulatory requirements.
• High understanding of the indicators of financial distress, potential loss and fraud.
