Salary range $215,426- $291,480 incl. super

About You:

Your leadership and team development skills will be vital for your success in this role. Your experience should also include:

• Authority on energy derivatives, forward markets, risk management and Australian wholesale trading environment
• Experience leading and supervising complex transactions and initiatives
• Sound commercial judgement and strong presentation skills
• Existing relationships with key gas and electricity counterparties
• Ability to deliver outcomes accurately to meet set and strict deadlines
• Knowledge and deep understanding of Hydro Tasmania's schemes, operations and projects such as Battery of the Nation
• Substantial understanding of the broader energy sectors, combined with a strategic and collaborative approach to work, and strong interpersonal skills, including ability to listen, understand and modify positions to achieve best for business outcomes.

You should also have a strong knowledge of:

• Physical gas pipelines and electricity transmission networks
• Competitor portfolio structures and positions in various markets

About the role:

The Head of Contract Trading oversees the day-to-day management, strategic direction and commercial development of the wholesale trading team function.

As The Head of Contract Trading you will be responsible for using expert knowledge in power markets, commodity transaction structuring, and negotiation/contracting to meet/exceed profit and strategic objectives of Hydro Tasmania.

This role will build and maintain strong business relationships with commercial and trading teams of key wholesale counterparties. You will structure and negotiate commercial arrangements that are derived from and are part of key projects such as Battery of the Nation.
