About the opportunity
Reporting to the General Manager of Group Property, you will be responsible and accountable for the operational and strategic planning, development, implementation, and ongoing management of Facilities Management Services and resources. You will also work in close collaboration with peers and outsourced service providers.
Providing a total Building Maintenance service across Australia Post's national leased and owned property portfolio including reactive &
planned maintenance of buildings and assets, asset life cycle management, energy, waste management, environmental and sustainability activities, minor works projects and all associated financial elements. Ensuring the operational built environments and services are provided and maintained in a safe, cost-effective manner, whilst achieving and maintaining all minimum compliance standards as per relevant local, state, and national legislation.
What you'll deliver with us
- At all times, ensure that Australia Post facilities comply with all relevant State legislation and Australian Standards associated with facilities management for essential services and Occupational Health and Safety (to the employees and the public at large) and to prevent exposure to litigation and damage to Australia Post's reputation
- Ensure the service provider's performance and operational service delivery obligations are in accordance with the Managed Services Agreement (MSA)
- Provide overall responsibility for the management and maintenance of fixed assets located on Australia Post's premises including plant and equipment associated with day-to-day operations
- Managing over $100 million spend p.A. and working collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders to achieve operational requirements
What are we looking for?
- Facilities/ Project Management experience including sound financial accountability of large programs of work
- Deep knowledge of legislative building compliance requirements across all levels of government
- Good technical knowledge of electrical engineering, air systems, water systems, gas systems, etc
- Familiarity with relevant health and safety standards, environmental sustainability issues, trends, carbon emission reduction activities, and familiarity with relevant regulatory compliance requirements, building codes
- Demonstrated leadership skills or experience to effectively manage and develop a team
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage with diverse stakeholders at all levels
