About the role

As the Head of Audit, you will be a key leader within the Group Internal Audit team, responsible for overseeing audit functions focused on our corporate areas and customer-oriented operational divisions. Your responsibilities include strategizing, creating, executing, and sustaining our yearly Internal Audit agenda to generate valued outcomes that support Origin's strategy and foster a culture aligned with our values. You will be crucial in confirming that our governance, risk management, and control frameworks are operating effectively and efficiently.

Your responsibilities will include:

Developing and delivering an annual risk-based Internal Audit Plan, including regular progress reporting.

Implementing and continuously improving our internal audit methodology, incorporating advanced techniques such as AI, data analytics, and LEAN principles.

Providing high-quality, independent, and objective assurance to key stakeholders, recommending value-adding, commercial and achievable actions.

Leading and participating in audit assignments, ensuring effective scope development, resource allocation, and concise reporting.

Managing and developing a team of internal audit professionals, fostering a supportive and high-performance work environment.

Liaising with external auditors and managing co-sourced supplier relationships to understand and advise on contemporary industry and better practices.

Driving strategic transformation initiatives within the audit team and across Origin, where required.

What will you bring?

To be consider for this position you will have a proven track record advising large, multi-location listed corporations at a Board and Executive management level. With a passion for leading and developing your people. You will also demonstrate:

Minimum of 10 years' experience in audit and/or assurance roles, with senior management experience.

Strong experience in managing teams and concurrent audit projects.

Deep knowledge of governance, risk management and internal audit practices.

Chartered Accountant (CA), Certified Practising Accountant (CPA), or Certified Internal Auditor (CIA) qualifications preferred.

Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written.

An aptitude for building and maintaining relationships with key stakeholders and influencing change.

Energy, Utilities, Retail, Financial Services, Industrial Manufacturing or Mining industry experience will be desirable.
