The role of aHardware Engineerinvolves designing, developing, and testing hardware for both board level and system level. The hardware engineer plays a critical role in ensuring the reliability, safety, and performance of energy storage systems.
Main Job Responsibilities:
- Development of Home Energy Storage Battery Systems:
- Responsible for designing and developing home energy storage battery systems.
- Involves selecting and validating electrical components for these systems.
- Battery Management System (BMS) Hardware Design:
- Designs and develops the hardware for the BMS used in home battery systems.
- BMS is crucial for monitoring and managing battery performance, safety, and efficiency.
- Circuit Design and PCB Layout:
- Creates schematic diagrams (original circuit designs) and PCB layouts (printed circuit boards).
- Ensures proper connections, component placement, and signal integrity.
- Testing and Debugging:
- Conducts board level testing and system debugging.
- Ensures that the hardware designed functions as per functional requirements spec.
- Integration and Coordination:
- Collaborates with other engineers to integrate components like inverters, battery packs, and monitoring platforms.
- Ensures seamless operation of the entire home energy storage system.
Required Qualifications:
- Educational Background:
- Holds a bachelor's degree or higher in electrical engineering or a related field. Majoring Power Electronics is preferred.
- Experience:
- Has at least 3 years of hardware development experience in power supply products and BMS (experience with photovoltaic inverters, energy storage converters, UPS, and BMS is preferred).
- Has involved or leaded product development intended to sale in mass market, from start to end,
- Experience worked for multinational cooperations preferred,
- BMS Knowledge:
- Proficient in BMS hardware design and its working principles.
- Familiar with DC/AC topologies such as BUCK, BOOST, LLC, and phase-shift full-bridge for power conversion.
- EDA Software Skills:
- Proficient in using EDA (Electronic Design Automation) software tools such as DXP, AD, and PADS.
- Familiar with simulation software such as SABER, PSIM, and MATLAB.
- Communication Skills:
- Excellent communication skill is highly desired. Knowledge of Chinese language has advantage in this role.
- Familiarity with Australia and international standards for photovoltaic energy storage systems is advantageous.
- Battery Cell Characteristics:
- Knowledgeable about the characteristics and applications of energy storage system battery cells is desired.
- Work Ethic and Leadership skills:
- Demonstrates a diligent and responsible work attitude.
- Has experience managing teams of 5-10 people and shows initiative.
