We are seeking an experienced General Manager to expand our Technical Services NDT business line nationally which includes the following services:

  1. Inspection and testing of pipelines
  2. Inspection of above ground storage tanks
  3. Asset Integrity Management services (FFS, RBI, Engineering Assessments)
  4. Inspection, survey and calibration of bulk fuel tanks

The position is based in our Sydney office and is a national role.

The role includes:

  • Manage day to day operations
  • Oversee budgeting and financial forecasts for operations
  • Implement strategies for operational efficiency, cost reduction, and continuous improvement
  • Ensure compliance with laws, regulations, and industry standards
  • To act as the primary contact with Clients for all jobs in the planning and operational stages.
  • To attend to client meetings Australia wide.
  • Ensure the Technical Services division is adequately resourced to perform work as allocated.
  • Ensure all team members are adequately qualified and trained to perform assigned roles.
  • Develop and Identify new business opportunities and develop execution strategies accordingly.
  • Drive a culture of Quality and Safety throughout the Technical Services division, identifying improvement processes.
  • Collaborate with the HSEQ Manager in developing and rolling out training programs and maintaining all accreditations for the Technical Services division.
  • Ensure all systems and processes are 'best practice' to meet business requirements. A continuous improvement mindset is critical.
  • Ensure PPE standards are implemented and upheld across the Technical Services division
  • Conduct field audits and assessments as required

The successful applicant will have:

  • A mechanical engineering degree or similar discipline with min 10 -15 years' experience in the oil and gas or marine industry.
  • Chartered Engineer / Professional Engineers or min qualified to work towards the requirements set out in Engineers Australia.
  • Strong industry contacts with the O&
    G field to develop new client relationships. Possess strong relationship building skills and commercial acumen
  • Demonstrable experience with business &
    strategy development. Excellent project planning, job budgeting and costing experience required.
  • Min 5 years' experience managing teams of engineers and / or inspectors and technicians.
  • Proven track record in managing large key account clients and developing sales pipeline.
  • Strong and demonstrable technical knowledge in most of the following areas:
    • API 653 Tank Inspections
    • API570 Piping Inspections
    • API579 Fit-For-Service Assessment
    • API580 / API581 Risk Based Inspections
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with an ability to liaise with various levels of stakeholders
  • A practical understanding of quality control.
  • You must be an Australian citizen or demonstrate the right to live and work in Australia
