Welcome to the Food Safety Team


Support a network of supermarkets working with varying levels of stakeholders to develop, refine and implement existing and new food safety processes. Partnering with our Operational teams ensuring process compliance, delivering food safety outcomes and driving food safety culture and behaviours within the business. Coach our in-store teams, support the Woolworths Group with Regulator visits, food safety reviews, risk assessments and in design reviews for our store layouts to ensure best practices are able to be met.


What you'll do
Reporting to our State Food Safety Manager for NSW/VIC/TAS, to support our on-the-ground teams, state management and external regulators to ensure best practice is adhered to for our customers and community.

  • Support and coach teams and demonstrate effective communication to drive best practice outcomes for stores
  • Investigate store-related food safety customer complaints and support stores in root cause investigation and resolution
  • Support with food related regulatory inspections by working with store teams and State Operations Team to find resolution and lead liaison with the regulator queries
  • Liaise with category support teams to assist in customer complaints in relation to food safety
  • Partner with your stakeholders to coach and implement improved processes and identify new opportunities


What you'll bring


As a Food Safety Partner, regular travel is required to stores within the State to coach and drive home best practices. You will have:

  • Strong knowledge of the Food Standards Australia and New Zealand and State / Territory specific food safety regulations
  • Previous experience in actively coaching and challenging operational (store) teams and leaders to ensure process compliance and to maintain the safety of food products
  • Ability to engage with stakeholders at multiple levels, internally and externally, to generate system improvements
  • Experience with process flows, incident investigation, root cause analysis and risk assessments
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Relevant Food Safety degree and/or previous experience with process compliance and food safety delivery and food retail
