About the Opportunity

Reporting directly to the Chief Financial Officer, Serco Asia Pacific with a dotted reporting line into the Managing Director of our Justice and Immigration business unit you will partner with the Business Unit Executive Team to lead and have overall responsibility for all aspects of finance and commercial within the business unit.

You will have direct responsibility for the finance team within the business unit and manage core finance responsibilities such as financial accounting, financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, planning, analysis, and contract pricing. In addition, you will be actively involved in the significant transformation across Serco Finance.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Lead on all finance and commercial requirements for the Business Unit and its associated contracts
  • Act as a leader of change and enabler of transformation, providing coaching on change to teams and stakeholders, and ensuring change is embedded and sustained
  • Develop strong external customer relationships and excellent internal relationships across the business, acting as a true business partner to the operations teams
  • Implement the ASPAC Divisional finance strategy to support business success
  • Set standards for robust accounting and commercial controls and reporting, fostering a culture of good governance and strong internal control
  • Manage and develop direct reports, working cross-functionally across the BU team to drive service excellence

About You

You are a strategic thinker with strong commercial acumen and a proven track record in financial leadership. Your experience in a service-oriented background and navigating complex commercial and legal issues will be invaluable. You possess excellent leadership and communication skills, enabling you to influence stakeholders and drive successful change initiatives. You are adaptable, detail-oriented, and thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.

Your Ideal Skills &
Experience

  • Qualified Accountant (Australian CA/CPA or equivalent)
  • Extensive experience as a financial leader within a business of comparable size and complexity to the Justice and Immigration business unit at Serco
  • Excellent commercial acumen and negotiation skills, with a drive for outstanding customer service and a high-performance culture, and experience in commercial dispute resolution
  • Proven experience in business growth success and the bidding/tendering process
  • Experience working in a multi-site organization with remote management
  • Proven experience managing, engaging, and motivating a team, communicating direction, and developing talent and capabilities
  • Experience with a Big 4 accounting firm is desirable
