They are committed to impact-driven solutions, utilising evidence-based approaches to deliver housing, education, and support, to those at risk or experiencing homelessness. Their dedicated team of 400 professionals collaborates with philanthropic donors and partner agencies to assist over 14,000 people annually. With unprecedented levels of government investment in the community housing sector, Launch Housing is at the forefront of tackling Australia's homelessness and housing affordability crisis. Their ambition includes building 500 new dwellings per year, necessitating the strengthening of their commercial team to deliver and maintain homes that people on low and moderate incomes can afford to rent.
About the role
Reporting to the CEO and playing a key role within the senior executive team, the Executive Director Housing Solutions plays a key leadership role across the entire portfolio of social and affordable housing assets. The Executive Director Housing Solutions leads a team of professionals to maintain, develop and procure new social and affordable housing, whilst supporting renters to sustain tenancies across a diverse property portfolio. By applying knowledge of government subsidy schemes, the Executive Director Housing Solutions, engages with developers and private capital, to create homes that enable renters on low and moderate incomes, and with identified needs, to access and sustain their housing. Additionally, they will be the executive lead for a social enterprise real estate service, providing developers and individual property owners with professional property management services. Success would balance leveraged growth of the development pipeline with high levels of renter and owner satisfaction. The housing and tenancy portfolio consists of approximately 1400 properties which includes properties managed for Homes Victoria and some specialist, families, crisis, and youth accommodation sites.
About you
Tertiary qualified in business, property development or human services, you are skilled in housing and project management. Additionally, you understand resident engagement systems and the management of property assets. Skilled in relationship management, negotiation, and people, you are aligned with the values of Launch Housing and committed to their mission of ending homelessness. You can deal with ambiguity and have the adaptability to navigate a rapidly changing landscape, confident in making difficult decisions when required. You are highly engaging, brave, and energetic whilst being focused on client and community outcomes. You possess emotional intelligence, awareness and an appreciation for the challenges faced by people on low incomes with complex needs. Within the business, you are a natural leader who is confident in guiding and inspiring employees and holding others accountable.
