What you'll do:

We have a fantastic opportunity for an Ethical Sourcing Lead to join the Corporate Affairs &
Sustainability team. Reporting to the Head of Sustainability, the successful candidate will be responsible for the development of the strategy, governance, and performance reporting of Wesfarmers Health ethical sourcing program. In this national role, you will partner with the Category Management teams to assist suppliers and service providers to adhere to our Ethical Sourcing policy and be accountable for driving ethical sourcing initiatives throughout the organisation.

Other key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Establishing, reviewing and maintaining the ethical sourcing processes and procedure manuals and standard contracts as required
  • Developing due diligence controls for ethical sourcing and modern slavery risks when onboarding new suppliers
  • Monitoring supplier compliance with the Ethical Sourcing policy and Supplier Code of Conduct, including maintaining an accurate database, reviewing supplier compliance, and ensuring ethical sourcing approval periods are adhered to
  • Reviewing factory audit reports and monitoring non-conformances and critical breaches
  • Mapping of supply chains and conduct supplier risk assessments, taking geography, brand, product, volume, reputation, spend and influence into consideration
  • Contributing to routine reporting, including monthly and annual reports, board reports and representation at key stakeholder meetings to provide updates and insights into ethical sourcing

What you'll bring:

  • Minimum five years' experience in an ethical sourcing and reporting role
  • Sustainability, finance, procurement, merchandise or risk experience preferable
  • Social compliance auditing experience is advantageous
  • Experience executing ethical sourcing audit programs
  • Understanding of social compliance, certification, and management issues
  • Experience preferably within in a large-scale multi-site commercial setting
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong organisational, planning and project management skills
  • A tertiary qualification in Commerce/Business, Law, Environment, Sustainability or Risk related discipline
