Sarina State High School are seeking an experienced Head of Department (Secondary) to join their community on a temporary full-time basis, from 08 July 2024 until 13 September 2024 unless otherwise determined.

About the Role

The position is Head of Department - Business, Languages and The Arts.
As the HOD of Business, Languages and The Arts you will have the responsibilities for the following:

• Lead &
  Manage V9 Australian curriculum Visual arts / Business/ Languages - Year 7 -10.
• Lead and manage QCAA Senior Subjects - Drama, Visual Art, Japanese, Legal Studies, Certificate III in Business and Certificate II in Tourism. Along with Visual Arts and Tourism in the Applied Area.
• Lead &
  manage pedagogy within faculty classes.
• Lead, manage &
  implement Certificate II in Financial Services - Year 10-12.
• Line management of faculty staff and the instrumental music program/teachers.
• Follow up on subject specific behaviour management.
• Coaching and capability development of faculty staff.
• Instructional Leadership - Implementation of whole school strategies and department initiatives.
• Wellbeing of staff.
• Set high standards for student and staff performance.
