This temporary vacancy is open to Expressions of Interest and any extensions to this appointment will not exceed 12 months.
About the Role:
As the Director Student Child and Family Connect you will lead a multi-disciplinary team to support vulnerable children, young people and families remain engaged or re-engage with education or transition to a viable pathway.
Responsible for leading the North Coast Region's student protection, students in care, youth support coordinator, youth engagement service, education justice initiative, senior pathways, industry partnerships and multi-tiered systems of support teams, you will be adept at monitoring data, making evidence-based decisions, brokering cross-agency collaboration, managing risks and driving practice improvement in alignment with Equity and Excellence.
Responsibilities include:
- Lead and manage the delivery of the Regional Student Connect initiative, manage and maintain oversight of the broader student engagement and other relevant portfolios.
- Undertake ongoing analysis of a wide range of research and regional data pertinent to children and young people's engagement and disengagement from education in order to identify strategies and actions within the department, and with other agencies.
- Promote discussion, reflection and action across the department, schools and other agencies to encourage multi-agency approaches to lifting vulnerable children and young people's engagement in early childhood education, school, or training across Queensland.
- Gather data on numbers and characteristics of children and young people supported, and the nature of interventions and outcomes of cross agency collaboration.
