The company is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Energy Trading Analyst to join their team on a fully remote basis. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of the Australian energy markets and a strong analytical background. This role involves working closely with traders and other analysts to develop and implement effective trading strategies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Analyse market data, trends, and forecasts to support trading strategies.
  • Monitor and report on market developments, regulatory changes, and industry news.
  • Develop and maintain analytical models to predict market movements.
  • Optimise trading strategies through advanced data analysis.
  • Collaborate with traders to identify market opportunities and risks.
  • Prepare detailed reports and presentations for internal stakeholders.
  • Utilise data analytics tools to enhance trading performance.
  • Conduct research on market conditions and competitor activities.
  • Evaluate the impact of economic and political events on energy markets.
  • Assist in the development of risk management strategies.
  • Support the implementation of trading systems and tools.
  • Participate in meetings and contribute to strategy discussions.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in finance, economics, engineering, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 3 years' experience in energy trading, market analysis, or a similar role.
  • In-depth knowledge of the Australian energy markets, including market structures and regulations.
  • Proficiency in data analysis tools and software, such as Excel, Python, R, or similar.
  • Strong analytical and quantitative skills.
  • Excellent communication and presentation abilities.
  • Self-motivated and capable of working independently in a remote setting.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with a remote team.
