The Incubator Branch within Defence Digital Group (DDG) has been established to provide optionality to Defence Sponsors at speed and scale for best in class global platforms combined with sovereign capability. We are looking for a highly experienced technical manager to as an ICT Solutions Architect with a proven record of enabling and leading incubation and architecture solution development and leading teams.
You will:

  • Manage the implementation of the Platform Enablement ICT technical environments, prioritising the key priorities for incubation activities using scaled agile methodology
  • Lead and drive all development and test technical environments
  • Build minimal viable product environments
  • Decommission environments once evaluated
  • Contribute to the evaluation of incubation activities

The Branch focusses on providing timely, responsive advice, and leverages rapid proven technology to showcase sub-scale working models. The team will manage requests from initiation to engagement of delivery Agile Release Trains using SAFE methodology to provide technical agility and meet the customer needs of Defence.
The Branch will provide enabling continuous exploration activities to inform and support Defence Continuous Delivery Pipelines.
ICT Solution Architects are considered a Defence critical APS occupational discipline;
therefore, suitable candidates will attract a Building Defence Capability Payment (BDCP) whilst maintaining an effective performance rating. BDCPs provide a premium rate of remuneration above the Defence Enterprise Agreement salary ranges.
Additional Role Information
(BDCP)
This role is eligible for an additional remuneration benefit known in Defence as a Building Defence Capability Payment (BDCP). This enables Defence to provide a premium, in addition to the base salary otherwise payable under the Defence Enterprise Agreement (DEA), for positions in occupational disciplines/classifications that are critical to Defence capability.   • Strong track record with leading technical incubation activities.
  • Experience managing the platform enablement domain while contributing to the evaluation of technology solutions.
  • Strong track record in a combination of digital/IT roles with a focus on digital enablement/transformation using best in class global platforms.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to identify and focus on the issues that matter.
  • Proven track record of developing high-performing teams, demonstrating an ability to motivate and lead in a cross-functional and culturally-diverse environment.
  • Proven track record in leading collaboratively and delivering in a fast paced environment. In addition, it is essential to possess robust leadership qualities, adaptability, resilience, a willingness to learn, and the ability to excel in a dynamic environment, while also being capable of guiding your team through the process. Additional professionalisation, training and development will be offered to successful candidates.
