The Department of Jobs, Skills, Industry and Regions (DJSIR) is seeking a highly motivated Director, VET Policy to join our Policy and Strategy branch (PSB) within the Skills and Employment group. You will assume a pivotal leadership role in guiding, supervising, and shaping strategic policy and program frameworks within the branch, including involvement in cabinet processes.

Leading three teams within the PSB branch, you will spearhead the development of strategic service delivery strategies aligned with government policies and reforms for Skills and TAFE. Guiding policy analyses, you will provide strong advice to senior department executives and ministerial audiences. Additionally, you will support branch capability enhancement, oversee planning, and management of projects. Your role will include conducting detailed data analysis and offering rigorous recommendations to support informed decision-making.

To be successful in this role you must demonstrate strong leadership capabilities, have previous strategic policy experience, a knowledge of service delivery strategy reform and be able to develop strong policy positions on core VET policy and knowledge of Cabinet processes.
