The Director, Talent Representation and Partnerships, ANZ role will create a positive, meaningful, and supportive environment for all of Sony Music's commercial and creative activities, talent and partners. You will be responsible for the direct impact on the entertainment ecosystem bringing rights management, development and talent to the centre of the value creation. You will be responsible for developing and maintaining strategic partnerships between our commercial and creative activities, talent, media and brands.

This role requires a combination of entertainment, music and sports industry insight, project management, strong networking skills, and a deep understanding of commercial rights exploitation and talent management principles. You will work closely with Sony Music owned and represented properties and events, athletes, artists, media personalities, third party brand and talent agencies and other industry professionals to maximise potential, secure opportunities and foster long-term success.

What you'll do:

  • Responsible for identifying, approaching, pitching, and signing new Talent in the fields of sports, media, music and the arts
  • Identify lucrative brand and commercial opportunities, negotiate favourable deals, and ensure that partnerships align with Sony Music's owned and represented commercial properties and events and/or Talent's personal brand and career goals
  • Partnering with brand agencies, you will initiate, build and manage robust, innovative and impactful partnerships for Sony Music's owned and represented properties and events, our talent and other commercial projects
  • Drive successful collaborations and maximize revenue for Sony Music's owned and represented properties and events, Talent, brands and other commercial projects. You'll ensure favourable terms and conditions while protecting the interests of the Talent and the business
  • Oversee the day-to-day execution (delivery) and reporting of deals and brand campaigns, ensuring that all deliverables are met, guidelines are upheld, and results are measured.
  • Building strong intra company relationships, you will work with other departments within Sony Music to identify opportunities and leverage the resources of Sony Music to our talents and owned and represented commercial properties' advantage
  • Cultivate relationships with brand representatives, agencies, media, third-party managers, sporting governing bodies, speaker agencies, charitable organisations and multi-platform outlets and industry contacts. Through these relationships and networks, you will also be responsible in seeking out new partnership and talent representation opportunities to foster long-term growth of the division
  • Accountable for revenue goals and targets, including P&
    L analysis, as part of overall deal
  • Create and maintain thorough tracking of all outreach (email, calls &
    meetings), targeted client engagements and partnership development
  • Present quarterly department status updates against targets to Executive team and generate weekly activity summaries
  • Coordinate with Sony Music's owned and represented commercial properties and events, talent and their management and internal teams (Marketing, Sync and A&
    R departments) to ensurecomprehensive, cohesive delivery of all deliverables, content, and production related elements for any opportunities

Who you are:

  • Ability to build trust easily with talent through a collaborative and supportive approach
  • Brings a combination of business acumen, marketing expertise, and relationship management skills
  • 8-10 years of progressive talent representation and management/partnership experience in entertainment/media/sports industry
  • Experience in contract negotiations and dealing with C-suite executives of large Australian and International organisations and brands
  • Creative self-starter with ability to adapt and thrive in a fast-paced environment
  • Highly organised individual that pays close attention to the details
  • Tertiary qualifications in business, marketing, or related fields are highly valued
  • Experience having full ownership of P&
    L delivery, including monthly forecasts and budgets
  • Passion for music and deep interest of digital media/marketing sector
  • Ability to balance commercial targets with the needs and brand identity of the talent you are representing
  • Partner and oversee brand agency relationships, guiding the business on best practices and reducing reliance on agencies where possible
  • Project management and delivery experience
  • Strong communication, highly responsive and service-oriented attitude
  • Team player with the ability to work collaboratively across departments
