This position can be based anywhere in NSW, and in this role you will be responsible for commercial lens of the organisation, advising the Chief Executive on best practice financial management, planning and governance decision making. You will be responsible for the negotiation, optimisation, performance and management of NSW TrainLink contracts.

You will also lead and manage all transformation and change activities across NSW TrainLink. This will include the transition of projects into delivery and operations, ensuring these align with future strategy and advance improved outcomes for passengers and the communities of NSW.

About you

  • You are an experienced and seasoned finance professional with transformation program delivery and contracts management experience.
  • You understand the current contracting commercial landscape well and bring experience communicating best practice and risk to a large organisation.
  • You bring strong commercial acumen and smarts to solve commercial and contractual problems and have experience leading commercial and contractual negotiations.
  • You bring a strong executive presence and the ability to provide strategic executive advice.
  • In providing the financial oversight and attestation for the agency, you bring experience presenting cashflow forecasting, financial results and key financial information to an executive team, enabling critical business decisions to be made.
  • You will have experience in setting the strategic plan through the use of data and insights.
  • You bring experience advising and implementing best practice methodologies to reduce costs and ensure accurate budget forecasting.
  • You have demonstrated experience in leading programs of work through a program delivery function where partnering with internal and external stakeholders is fundamental to successful outcomes.
  • You will understand processes associated with passenger information delivery through stakeholder channels.
  • You possess advanced advocacy and interpersonal communication skills with an intuitive ability to understand and drive performance, productivity, and engagement.
  • You will have demonstrated experience building, leading, motivating and setting strategic direction of very accomplished teams.
  • You will understand the balance of addressing passenger requirements whilst adhering to other regulatory, policy, government and operational conditions.
  • You have the ability to articulate complex concepts and put forward compelling arguments and rationales to all levels and types of audiences.
  • You have a strong track record leading commercial outcomes of continuous improvement.
  • You are someone that has demonstrated experience improving best practice through innovative thinking and from lessons learnt.
