Liverpool Hospital is recruiting for the Director of revenue to complement and enhance the current District Revenue Team.

What You'll be Doing

The Director Revenue is an executive leadership role that provides direction, expert analysis and advice to identify and realise sustainable commercial and revenue opportunities across South Western Sydney Local Health District (SWSLHD).

The position is responsible for the efficient and effective operations of District Revenue.

The incumbent will combine strong business acumen, expertise in revenue policy and the health insurance industry, with strong knowledge of clinical operations to lead and mentor senior managers at a District and hospital level, clinicians, and finance staff, in the design and implementation of sustainable change in the context of a whole-of-system approach to maximise revenue.


The position will direct concurrent change programs and play a pivotal role in ensuring the buy-in of key stakeholders in navigating the implementation and evaluation of change programs related to the revenue portfolio.


The position will design and establish practical solutions, effective systems, tools and governance structures to support the reform (including a progressive shift to greater reliance on automation) relating to patient fees, prostheses revenue and staff specialist billing.


The Director Revenue will establish effective stakeholder relationships and represent the Director of Finance &
Corporate Services in discussions with private health insurance industry representatives, and with the Ministry of Health to maximise revenue capture within SWSLHD and to ensure SWSLHD realigns its revenue activity in response to changes to policy and industry practice.


Where You'll Be Working

Liverpool Hospital, founded in 1813, is the major health service for south-western Sydney, providing services to the local government area of Liverpool City Council as well as district services to residents and visitors in the area.

It also provides a range of state-wide services in areas such as critical care and trauma, neonatal intensive care and brain injury rehabilitation.


The Hospital provides a health service of international standing, with 23 operating theatres, capacity for 877 beds, diagnostic and imaging services, emergency and trauma care, maternity, paediatric, cancer care, mental health, ambulatory care, allied health and medical and surgical services from birth to aged care.

Liverpool Hospital is currently undergoing a major redevelopment.

The $790 million Liverpool Health and Academic Precinct (LHAP) project will provide enhanced facilities and an increased capacity to meet future significant population growth for South Western Sydney.


Liverpool Hospital is a principal referral and teaching Hospital of the University of NSW and the Western Sydney University and also welcome students from over 20 universities and colleges.

Located in the heart of Liverpool City, the hospital is close to public transport, shopping centres and eateries.
How to Apply

  • Tertiary qualifications in business management, accounting, health service management or commerce or extensive experience within driving strategic reform within a financial or commercial setting.
  • Demonstrated experience as a senior manager, including experience leading a large team and implementing transformational cultural change.
  • Strong communication, negotiation and problem solving skills, with experience in working closely with executives, clinicians and other influential stakeholders.
  • Proven capacity to provide influential information in verbal and written format to board, executive personnel and staff within government departments, combined with the ability translate information into an accessible and understandable format to other stakeholders.
  • Strong financial and commercial acumen combined with business analysis skills and the capacity to present data to identify and drive revenue improvement opportunities.
  • Demonstrated proven track record with designing and implementing business process quality improvement initiatives and associated change programs as part of a broader statewide or national change initiative.
