The Opportunity

We're excited to present an outstanding opportunity for a strategic, dynamic, and leadership-oriented Director of Finance to join the executive team at Joondalup Health Campus! Reporting directly to the Deputy CEO, you will play a crucial role in steering the financial management and performance of our hospital. With the support of an on-site finance team and an off-site Finance Service Centre for transactional accounting, you will ensure financial accuracy and integrity. What you'll do

  • Finalisation and analysis of results and identification of opportunities for improvements and growth.
  • Development of annual budgets and business plans.
  • Management of, Finance, Purchasing, and Business Intelligence. Depending on the candidate, management other non-clinical departments may be added.
  • The role encompasses the management and financial implications of Capital Expenditure
  • Liaise with corporate finance services regarding reporting and compliance.
  • Partnering with departments to educate and empower departmental managers to understand, monitor and meet KPIs.
  • Commercial overview of contracted services for performance and opportunities.
  • As a member of the hospital executive, you will contribute to hospital level strategic, commercial, and operational decision making.

What you'll bring

To be successful in this role you will possess significant commercial acumen, financial management expertise, highly effective leadership skills and the ability to foster strong, positive, and professional relationships with remote and on-site teams.

Key skills and experience you bring to the role include:

  • Qualifications in accountancy/finance management, preferably CPA or CA.
  • Ability to analyse financial and operational information, develop value creating insights.
  • Work collaboratively with the business to improve performance.
  • Demonstrated excellent attention to detail, decision making capabilities and ability to communicate clearly and concisely.
  • Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office programs.
  • Previous experience working with large accounting software packages and financial reporting models including advanced budget preparation.
  • Demonstrated ability to work with and support key non-financial stakeholders.
  • A successful track record in managing change in a complex, multi-disciplinary environment.
  • Experienced in financial management within the healthcare sector.
  • Understanding of case-mix funding and revenue management cycle
  • Proficient in financial legislation, compliance, and financial risk management frameworks relevant to healthcare environments.

Our 732-bed hospital offers a wide range of inpatient and day services, including advanced surgical, cardiac, respiratory, maternity, orthopaedic, rehabilitation, and acute aged care. Joondalup Health Campus comprises co-located public and private hospitals, and combined is one of Western Australia's hospitals. The public hospital is operated under a long term contract with the Western Australian government to treat public patients.
