Job Description
Yourprimary responsibilitieswill include but are not limited to:

  • Plan and direct all aspects of Engineering activities and projects within the property.
  • Ensure the achievement of Objectives on a Monthly, Quarterly and Yearly basis
  • Prepare and implement Departmental budget, guidelines, policies and procedures in compliance with corporate direction and legal requirements.
  • To ensure effective communication between the management and the department and to provide a professional, advisory and executive support service to the General Manager in formulating strategic goals and plan.
  • Maintain a forward-thinking mindset to achieve the department and overall property goals.
  • Be an inspiration to all hotel staff to achieve luxury levels of performance.
  • Be an example of Brand Standards, and a champion of grooming and appearance guidelines.
  • Clearly demonstrate to guests and colleagues a commitment to service excellence through the effective implementation and delivery of Brand Standards at all times.
  • Ensure hotel compliance with all Fire and Safety regulations, Plan preventive maintenance and keep all necessary documentation.

BUDGETING AND REPORTING

  • Assist in the preparation, presentation and subsequent achievement of the Hotel's annual Operating Budget, Marketing &
    Sales Plan and Capital Budget. Involved in the development and execution of Hotel wide strategic planning.
  • Investigate and analyze variances to budget or to prior year and offer practical improvement methodologies to management.
  • Provide weekly, monthly, annual and adhoc reporting and presentations to hotel, regional, corporate and ownership stakeholders.
  • Management and follow up of all Capital and Investment projects within the Hotel (Capex) in co-ordination with the Financial Controller and General Manager.
  • Ensure that daily and monthly financial outlooks and reports for the Department are on time, on target and accurate.
  • Ensure full compliance to Hotel operating controls and seek innovative ways to improve performance regularly.
  • Optimize the profitability levels through consistent monitoring and effective control of costs, labor, operating expenses and stock inventories throughout the Department.

HUMAN RESOURCES

  • Recruit, schedule, train and develop colleagues within the Department, including coaching, problem resolution, counseling and discipline.
  • Provides on-going direction, develop, energize and lead a motivated, competent and cohesive team consistent with the hotel, Regional and Corporate needs. Empower colleagues to exceed guest expectations &
    provide a path for career development within Accor.
  • Set and monitor staffing levels and productivity targets with the goal of ensuring a balance between service and profitability. Controls colleagues' productivity within established criteria based on monthly/annual forecasted/budgeted figures. Responsible for maintaining staffing levels through retention initiatives and proactive recruiting;
  • Build and maintain employee relationships;
    conduct monthly communication meetings;
    ensure appropriate and timely recognition for individuals and teams;
    participate in organizing divisional and hotel recognition events.
  • Lead department to maintain superior colleague engagement through action planning as a result of the Employee Engagement Survey including continuous improvements
  • Manage a related leadership succession plan.
  • Conduct performance reviews of colleagues within the Department.

MEETING AND COMMITTEES

  • Promote health, safety and wellbeing of our guests and co-workers by having in-depth knowledge of the Hotel's crisis and emergency procedures;
    responsible for crisis management planning &
    execution within his Department;
    member of hotel crisis management team;
    understand and implement the corporate crisis communication procedures within his Department.
  • Involved and active within hotel committees;
  • Play an integral role in strategic sustainability planning;
    ensure environmental initiatives are adhered to, and new and innovative environmental opportunities are implemented
  • Lead Monthly Departmental meeting.
  • Co-Chair the Hotel's Environmental Committee.
  • Lead waste management programs in line with local laws, while monitoring Energy and Water Management programs to ensure cost effective use of utilities.

ETHICS AND POLICIES

  • Comply with Pullman Hotels &
    Resorts / Accor policies, procedures and code of ethics;
    ensures Service Essentials and Brand Standards are in place and executed.

GUEST SATISFACTION

  • Ensure service delivery to other Departments and guests within the hotel is timely, accurate, and enables property to meet or exceed Guest expectations.
  • Lead within the Department the strategic implementation of customer satisfaction improvement activities.

SPECIFIC TASKS

  • Ensure information provided to the others Departments is timely, accurate, and enables the Hotel to perform.
  • Examine technology, resources at hand, and market demands in order to have good knowledge of whether a particular proposed project is practicable, or if when started could be achieved. Ensure that any purchase or repair of hotel's facilities, equipment and tools are cost efficient and safe for using.
  • Ensure that the Hotel's facilities, equipment, tools and devices are well operational and properly maintained. Ensure all areas are in perfect condition to ensure the safety and comfort of the guests and employees.
  • Ensure that hotel's operation is strictly bound to Georgian Laws and Accor regulations on environmental protection, construction and regulations on Health, Safety and Fire protection. This includes but is not limited to updating GM and relevant HODs on laws and regulations, ensuring they are implemented and that required certificate and permits are obtained.
  • Utilizes best practice engineering methods to provide expert technical guidance for engineering initiatives.
  • Lead the team to ensure guests satisfaction through preventive maintenance, trouble shooting, repair and general maintenance. Support other departments in activities relating to engineering and maintenance.
  • Provide training and technical leadership to appropriate personnel regarding equipment operations, standards, and maintenance. Train team members and relevant HODs on appropriate operation/utilization of equipment, tools or devices in a safe manner.

Qualifications
Your Experience and Skills Include:

  • At least three years of work experience on the same/similar position, preferably in the upper scale environment of international hotel chains
  • Higher education in engineering field
  • Knowledge of Fire and Safety regulations
  • Service focused personality
  • Proficient in English and Georgian languages oral and written
  • Computer literate with advanced skills in MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Ability to lead by example, believe in a strong team culture and set the scene for high performance
  • Results and service oriented with an eye for details
  • Excellent problem solving and decision-making skills
  • Ability to multi-task, work well in stressful &
    high-pressure situations
