Director, Nursing and Midwifery - NBMLHD

Nepean Blue Mountains Local Health District

  • Nepean Blue Mountains Local Health District have an opportunity for an experienced and motivated leader to join their executive team in a pivotal strategic clinical leadership role.
  • The Director, Nursing and Midwifery will use their expertise to lead the development and implementation of contemporary models of care to support nurses and midwives working to their full scope of practice.
  • This role will work closely with the sites and services to drive a positive culture of safety and quality and continuous improvement.

This role will be located in Penrith

Role Outline

Ensure new and innovative clinical practices are implemented to improve patient flow and access and address other key challenges confronting health service delivery.

Provide professional leadership and direction of nursing and midwifery clinical standards by ensuring accountability for clinical practice and safety requirements through appropriate nursing and midwifery staffing, clinical competence, and evidence-based standards of practice.

You are required to submit a one page covering letter, including a short statement in response to the two targeted questions below:

  • Describe a recent innovative reform which you led across your nursing and midwifery teams which both elevated performance and enhanced culture?
  • Please describe a recent initiative you led around improving clinical governance, sharing what the measurable outcomes were.

The successful candidate will have:

  • Tertiary qualification in Health Management and/or demonstrated equivalent knowledge and experience and training
  • Minimum five years' Senior Nursing &
    Midwifery leadership experience
  • Demonstrated knowledge of NSW health system

This is an ongoing, Band 1, Health Service senior executive (HSSE) role. An attractive remuneration package within the range of $217, 997 to $242, 100 per annum, will be negotiated with the successful applicant.
