Details:
ACT Health has an exciting new position available in their Communications &
Campaigns Team to lead a small team of public relations professionals to provide a high level of service to the Directorate, Minister's Office and the media. You will have direct accountability for the directorate's proactive and reactive media activities, focused on the protection and promotion of the directorate's reputation, and dissemination of important health information for the benefit of the Canberra community.

Working closely with all members of the Communications and Engagement Branch, you will:

• develop and implement media strategies that tell the story of the work we do.
• undertake proactive public relations work with the media to manage the reputation of the directorate as a credible authority and manage the reactive needs to respond to the story of the day.
• apply and role model a systemised, creative approach to media engagement, creating an efficient and proactive function that leads the public narrative.
• seek to continuously improve team processes and delivery through data, feedback, insights and research.
• work in partnership with business and policy teams and broader ACT Public Service to deliver coordinated communication and engagement activities.
• work collaboratively across the branch to deliver an integrated approach and co-ordinated services.

Eligibility/Other Requirements:
Tertiary qualifications in communications, public relations, marketing, media (or equivalent), or equivalent senior level experience working in communications are desirable.

Notes:
This is a temporary position available immediately for six months with the possibility of extension and/or permanency. A Merit Pool will be established from this selection process and may be used to fill vacancies over the next 12 months.
