Job Description

Reporting to the CEO, the Director - Informit will be responsible for:

  • Working closely with the Informit Leadership Team to lead the ongoing development and delivery of the Informit strategy
  • Championing Informit's First Peoples' Lens program, dedicated to promoting the achievements of Indigenous scholars and building strong relationships with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people and organisations
  • Working closely with the Product team to build a viable, sustainable roadmap of product initiatives that align with Informit's vision and strategy
  • Leading and collaborating on the development of annual sales and marketing plans to support Informit's growth strategy
  • Leading and collaborating across the product, platform and production teams to drive operational excellence for all Informit products and services
  • Overseeing commercial relationships with partners
  • Managing Informit's relationship with the internal RMITT IT team and oversee the governance of external relationships with technology partners
  • Financial performance of the Informit business as well as overseeing executive management of commercial performance reporting, and risk mitigation
  • Leading, motivating, engaging and developing a large team effectively, fostering a culture of cross team collaboration, achieving sales targets and KPIs

The Successful Applicant

As the successful applicant you will ideally possess:

  • Relevant tertiary qualification in business, commerce or information management
  • Demonstrated track record of success in a senior leadership role delivering strong commercial outcomes
  • Extensive experience in electronic publishing and / or library and information service industries
  • Demonstrated great people leadership, with the ability to manage a team, hire well, retain and develop key talent and create a thriving and inclusive culture where creative, exciting, highly talented people will thrive
  • Demonstrated experience creating and delivering commercially focused strategic blueprints (strategies) for product innovation and sustainable business growth
  • Strong project delivery capability and experience, combined with ability to prioritise projects, and make commercially sound decisions
  • Excellent understanding of contemporary publishing paradigms such as Open Access and other licensing models
  • Understanding of relevant technology / digital platforms and demonstrated experience working with software development, data and analytics
  • Understanding of emerging technologies and industry trends i.E. AI and Machine Learning
