ConocoPhillips' Australian headquarters are located in Brisbane. Our focus is supplying Australian customers with natural gas and international customers with liquefied natural gas. We do this through our 47.5 percent interest in the Australia Pacific LNG joint venture, one of the largest producers of natural gas in eastern Australia. ConocoPhillips Australia also operates the Australia Pacific LNG liquefied natural gas facility near Gladstone. We are also an exploration company, with ongoing exploration occurring in the Bowen and Surat Basin in Central Queensland and new exploration in the Otway Basin along the southern coast of Australia to identify natural gas reserves for supply to Australian customers.

Reporting to the General Manager, HSE, ConocoPhillips Australia is excited to bring to market the full-time position of Director, HSE Compliance &
Assurance
in Brisbane, Queensland.

In this influential role, the Director, HSE Compliance &
Assurance
will manage and positively contribute to the effective implementation and continual improvement of the HSE Management System ad core programs for ConocoPhillips Australia, including the coordination of HSE communication and consultation framework.

The Director, HSE Compliance &
Assurance
will leada small team with responsibility for the management, promotion and assurance of HSE compliance and HSE performance reporting and data analytics programs for ConocoPhillips Australia and collaborate closely with HSE and line management on HSE Management System implementation and compliance assurance activities.

About you

Along with your tertiary qualification in a HSE related discipline, or, at least 10 years of HSE experience in the oil and gas or heavy construction industry, you are a passionate HSE professional who is self-motivated, proactive, and ready to contribute directly to HSE leadership for ConocoPhillips Australia.

Your work experience is underpinned by:

  • Cultural alignment with ConocoPhillips' SPIRIT Values
  • Demonstrated experience in the development, implementation and continual improvement of HSE management systems
  • Demonstrated experience leading a team of technical professionals
  • Strong working knowledge of current Queensland work, health and safety and environment legislation and applicable standards
  • Demonstrated experience in compliance management, consultation, collaboration, incident investigation, auditing and reporting skills
  • Ability to foster and support a learning and high reliability culture
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
  • Engaging, thoughtful, respectful, and proactive work style
