As the Director First Peoples Engagement, Education, Experience,you will lead and inspire excellence in First Peoples cultural engagement, education experiences, and pathways-to-employment to ensure success for First Peoples living, learning and working on Wadawurrung Country and beyond.
The role involves strategically leading initiatives to foster increased engagement with, and understanding of, cultural knowledge and culturally safe practices and experiences for students and staff at The Gordon TAFE. You'll play a pivotal role in establishing The Gordon as a leading and respectful provider of First Peoples education, overseeing a dedicated education support team at The Kitjarra wurrun-ngeen (Our Talking House) and coordinating support programs for First Peoples enrolled across all campuses.
Your responsibilities will extend to expanding and enhancing First Peoples education programs and initiatives to broaden opportunities for students and staff in education and employment pathways. Emphasising collaborative and inclusive approaches, you'll champion transformative practices, drawing on community connections and relationships to inform decision-making and promote self-determination for First Peoples within the institution.
As a key member of the Senior Leadership Team, you'll actively engage in building extensive regional, community, and industry networks to achieve positive organisational and community outcomes. Additionally, you'll be accountable for implementing strategic frameworks that align with the educational and employment needs and expectations of various stakeholders, including students, communities, industry partners, and government bodies.
