Lead the Creating Better Connections Action Plan on behalf of Translink Executive Management, providing them with a vision and strategy to support the coordination and delivery of projects, whilst ensuring customer needs and requirement are supported. In this position you will direct the relevant delivery and business teams across Translink to ensure that customer projects are established and delivered effectively from concept through to project handover in a coordinated approach that supports the Creating Better Connections Action Plan.

The purpose of the Director (Creating Better Connections Delivery) is to lead the Creating Better Connections Action Plan on behalf of Translink Executive Management, providing them with a vision and strategy to support the coordination and delivery of projects, whilst ensuring customer needs and requirement are supported. In this position you will direct the relevant delivery and business teams across Translink to ensure that customer projects are established and delivered effectively from concept through to project handover in a coordinated approach that supports the Creating Better Connections Action Plan.

Some of your responsibilities will include:

  • Provide overall strategic direction for the Creating Better Connections Action Plan

- Work with internal business customers to scope and estimate existing and new projects, raising required cost/resource models, high-level schedules, and milestones to ensure linkages to the Creating Better Connections Action Plan.

- Advise delivery teams for new and existing initiatives to ensure linkages to the Creating Better Connections Action Plan, ensuring there is a coordinated Divisional view.

- Work with internal governance bodies to progress new projects through initial TMR and government project gateways while implementing new ways of working (and governance) that supports customer outcomes.

  • Workforce and Pipeline Planning

- Forecasting and maintaining an optimum level of resources, with appropriate skillsets, to meet the ongoing pipeline of initiatives for the Creating Better Connections Action Plan.

- Identifying where resources are best allocated to meet the short term and long 1 term requirements of the Creating Better Connections Action Plan, making prioritization decisions and recommendations to executives.

- Managing and reporting on status to the Translink Executive Management and relevant program and project boards.

  • Change Management

- Managing the change process across projects with in the Translink Creating Better Connections Action Plan, ensuring changes are risk-assessed, tracked, costed, planned, approved, and progressed in accordance with appropriate change management standards.

  • Project Delivery Oversight

- Directing and advising relevant Project Delivery Teams to ensure the successful delivery of projects in accordance with all appropriate quality governance and assurance standards and processes.

- Developing and reviewing project and customer management artefacts to ensure that the overall delivery approach is clearly described, appropriate and in accordance with TMR and government standards while enabling delivery of the Creating Better Connections Action Plan.

Mandatory qualifications and conditions

  • A criminal history check will be undertaken prior to appointment to the role. Requirements of the role
  • 5+ years Project Management Office experience in a delivery manager role, directing a team of project managers and other delivery resources in project delivered.
  • Experience working on large scale projects involving significant vendor delivery and have experience in vendor management.
  • Demonstrate a high-level of PRINCE2, Agile, project/program management delivery methodologies and best practice.
