Director Catholic Identity

MacKillop College is seeking to expand the leadership roles responsible for the promotion of our Catholic identity and invites experienced educators with a passion for teaching contemporary expressions of faith and religious education to apply for this dynamic position of leadership.

Our College is experiencing an exciting time of innovation and growth, which offers a unique opportunity to work closely with the Deputy Principal:
Catholic Identity, and the two existing Directors of Catholic Identity to support the development of curriculum and resources related to the moral and social teaching of the Catholic church.

The role will co-lead our College liturgies, retreats and eucharistic celebrations, and support the Religious Education Leader to develop, implement and evaluate the theological, philosophical underpinnings of our curriculum. This person will also have a key advisory role to staff and students in their selection, preparation and participation in social justice activities.

At MacKillop College we are committed to innovation and working collaboratively, and this Director of Catholic Identity will be a key resource for all staff in their understanding and participation in the liturgical and ritual life of our College.

Our ideal candidate will possess

• a proven understanding of contemporary teaching in religious education
• experience in leading the development of the religious education curriculum and resources
• a passion for leading expressions of faith through prayer, liturgy and social justice initiatives
• a commitment to the ethos of Catholic education and the charism of St Mary of the Cross MacKillop
• excellent communication skills with a recognised ability to build authentic relationships with staff, students, and families

The successful applicant can negotiate a commencement date during the current School year.
