About the role

Permanent full time opportunity to Lead Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander strategic and operational planning improvement initiatives across the service as they relate to Metro North Health strategies and state and national plans related to improving mental health and alcohol and other drugs health outcomes and social and emotional wellbeing for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Peoples

About you

Our ideal candidate will be someone who can carry out the following key accountabilities in accordance with the Metro North Health's values:

  • Provide strategic advice to the Executive, senior leaders and other senior practitioners within MNMH regarding Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander mental health and alcohol and other drugs health and social and emotional wellbeing service planning and workforce management strategies to achieve optimal access, experiences and outcomes for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander consumers of MNMH.
  • Ensure that Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Health service standards are maintained through adherence to defined NSQHS standards and relevant occupational health and safety policies, procedures, and work practices.
  • Promote a culture of transparency, accountability and quality service and ensure decisions about Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Health provision are both ethical and evidence based.
  • Be responsible for the provision of efficient and effective use of human and material resources in a specific area within a dynamic health environment.
  • Foster a workplace environment that is outcomes focussed and instil a culture of continuous improvement through effective communication, training, and flexible use of the available workforce.

supporting the deliveryof sustainable, culturally safe and responsive health services;
and recognise the importance of working with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, communities and organisations to design, deliver, monitor and review the health and support services we provide.
