The Company
Capstone has been exclusively engaged to recruit this leadership position on one of Brisbane's most complex and exciting development precincts. Herston Quarter is home to one of Brisbane's largest mixed-use urban renewal projects. Within the broader Herston Health Precinct including RBWH, this iconic project includes Commercial Office, Health, Education, PBSA, Childcare and Heritage asset classes.
The Role
Based in Brisbane, we are seeking to appoint a Development Director to oversee the development and delivery of this major project. A once in a career opportunity, the site comprises 6/7 different asset classes. It is a complex project requiring exemplary stakeholder management skills, with both a wide array of internal stakeholders and a large group of private and public externals.
The role will encompass project and development management at the highest level. With the project approximately half way through a 10yr+ program, the Development Director will focus on delivery excellence of existing stages whilst also leveraging Strategy &
Origination expertise to unlock a further $1bil+ in development opportunities across the precinct.
This is a leadership position and as such you would be responsible for managing a team of high performing direct reports and a wider team of consultants.
Understanding of Development agreements and negotiating within a highly complex contractual &
stakeholder environmentwill be vital in this role.
The Individual
You will be degree qualified and have 15+ years experience as a built-form Senior Development Manager or Development Director within a corporate setting. Experience delivering diverse asset classes and a major mixed-use multi stage masterplan is essential. As is a proven track record in a high pressure environment with competing priorities and complexities. Further requirements for this role include:

  • Demonstrated experience managing senior Government &
    Private sector stakeholders.
  • Ability to focus on the detail whilst also having the commercial nous and development expertise to create opportunities looking forward.
  • Attention to detail and proficiency in producing board level reports.
  • Proven people leadership capability.
  • A career history in development management.
  • Experience within a large complex multi-stage development project - ideally Urban renewal style project/s.
  • A passion for project delivery.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
