Queensland Treasury (Treasury) is the economic, fiscal, commercial and investment advisor to Government and leads the Queensland Government's efforts to ensure the economy of Queensland delivers outcomes for the community.
Treasury's vision is for a strong economy for all Queenslanders. Our purpose is to:

  • grow the Queensland economy and create jobs
  • deliver fiscal sustainability
  • equip our workforce for the future
  • drive public sector reform.

As a central agency, Treasury plays a leadership role in driving the delivery of priorities, economic reform and addressing complex challenges. With a clear remit to drive value through collaboration, Treasury promotes a positive organisational culture underpinned by integrity, accountability and engagement.
The Deputy Under Treasurer, Social, Intergovernmental and Corporate (DUT) is a strategic leadership position for Treasury with overall responsibility for critical whole-of-government policy frameworks, initiatives and services. The DUT is fundamental to Treasury driving the Government's plan to grow the economy and jobs, in line with the Government's economic recovery priorities and longer-term economic and fiscal strategy.
The DUT works closely with the Under Treasurer and fellow executives to lead Treasury's strategic plan and achieve our ambitious goals for Queensland and our organisation.
The DUT collaborates with senior leaders across the Queensland public sector to ensure an economic and fiscal lens is brought to policy development and decisions across all of Government and compliance with the Government's reform agenda. The DUT ensures a strategic and proactive approach to intergovernmental relations and represents Treasury in complex and sensitive negotiations and consultations.
Reporting to the Under Treasurer, the DUT is part of Treasury's executive leadership team and leads a multi-disciplinary group with accountability for a range of complex policy and strategic initiatives and functions, including:

  • managing Treasury's intergovernmental relations function to achieve the best outcomes for Queenslanders
  • leading and coordinating whole-of-sector social policy and reform initiatives
  • delivering economically and fiscally responsible public policy advice and analysis that promotes economic and community growth and sound public administration
  • supporting significant advisory committees and groups for Government by providing advice consistent with the Government's priorities and objectives for the community
  • leading Treasury's corporate functions, including legal, finance, people and culture, information management and corporate performance.

To be successful in this pivotal role, you will have deep experience leading advice on complex social and public policy and have a reputation for forging collaborative and productive working relationships across Government and with key stakeholders at the most senior level. You will have led multi-disciplinary teams and be able to demonstrate your success in leading policy development, complex projects, managing risk and exercising judgement and political acumen. You will be a change agent who consistently seeks better outcomes through policy and service delivery improvement.
Treasury is committed to achieving and supporting a diverse, safe and supportive workforce.
