About the Role

As the Deputy Principal, your responsibilities will be to:

  • Lead the implementation of the school's strategic plan, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and academic excellence.
  • Lead staff, across the school and within project teams, to meet Annual Implementation Plan objectives.
  • Demonstrate outstanding communication, negotiation, and persuasion skills to engage stakeholders and drive positive change.
  • Employ effective case management strategies to support student success, holding regular stakeholder meetings to enhance educational outcomes.
  • Manage a variety of strategic portfolios, overseeing initiatives aimed at enhancing student engagement and achievement.
  • Foster a supportive school environment focused on student and staff wellbeing and performance, utilizing data-driven insights to inform decision-making.
  • Champion Positive Behaviour for Learning (PBL) or multi-tiered systems of support for students, promoting a positive and inclusive school culture.
  • Collaborate with staff, students, and the broader community to create a safe, nurturing, and inclusive learning environment.
  • Organize day-to-day school operations to ensure the smooth and effective running of the school, addressing any operational challenges that may arise.
  • Lead year level teams (including Head of Year, Year Level Coordinator and Student Support personnel) to monitor and improve student attendance, engagement, performance and wellbeing, utilising a variety of data sources (SORD, OnseSchool, TrackEd).
  • Guide student leaders (within the Student Representative Council framework) to enact proactive year level, school, and community activities, building student social capital and wellbeing.
