These roles will commence on a full-time temporary basis from Term 3, for aperiod of 6 months, unless otherwise determined.

The Deputy Principal will be responsible for working with the Executive Principal and the Leadership and Management Team to enact the school's ongoing improvement agenda. The successful applicant will significantly contribute to a high expectations school culture that is focussed on continuous improvement to maximise each teacher and student performance and potential.

A key component of this role is building positive and productive partnerships with the Executive Team to ensure that students experience a seamless curriculum and learning experience 7-12.

This will be achieved through proactively and collaboratively working with the school's leadership team to build a faculty that lives the State High values of excellence, respect and Public Education. This work will be delivered through your collaborative process that build a mindset of progress, expertise and visible culture.

Working as part of the school's leadership team you will be instrumental in developing the mindsets, pedagogical practices and curriculum knowledge of teachers within your faculty.

A key part of your success will be your ability to develop and nurture positive working relationships with, and between, students, parents and staff in a large and complex school community.

As a Deputy Principal at Brisbane State High School you will have responsibility for leading the following activities and delivery of the following key tasks:

  • Assist the Executive Principal to lead the school community to develop, articulate and commit to a shared educational vision focussed on providing quality learning outcomes for all students.
  • Uphold the deputy principalship as a values based, ethical and moral activity.
  • Embed socially just practices in daily school life.
  • Set high standards for student and staff performance.
  • Actively participate in lifelong learning and ongoing professional development.
