About the Opportunity
Liverpool Hospital is recruiting for a Pharmacist Grade 5 to complement and enhance the current Pharmacy Department.

What You'll be Doing
Assist the Director of Pharmacy in the safe, efficient and productive management of the Hospital Pharmacy Service.

Act as the Director of Pharmacy in periods of absence in that position.

Where You'll Be WorkingLiverpool Hospital, founded in 1813, is the major health service for south-western Sydney, providing services to the local government area of Liverpool City Council as well as district services to residents and visitors in the area. It also provides a range of state-wide services in areas such as critical care and trauma, neonatal intensive care and brain injury rehabilitation.

The Hospital provides a health service of international standing, with 23 operating theatres, capacity for 877 beds, diagnostic and imaging services, emergency and trauma care, maternity, paediatric, cancer care, mental health, ambulatory care, allied health and medical and surgical services from birth to aged care.

Liverpool Hospital is currently undergoing a major redevelopment. The $790 million Liverpool Health and Academic Precinct (LHAP) project will provide enhanced facilities and an increased capacity to meet future significant population growth for South Western Sydney.

Liverpool Hospital is a principal referral and teaching Hospital of the University of NSW and the Western Sydney University and also welcome students from over 20 universities and colleges.

Located in the heart of Liverpool City, the hospital is close to public transport, shopping centres and eateries.

  • Extensive experience in hospital pharmacy practice, preferably in a large teaching hospital, including experience managing the provision of pharmacy services
  • Demonstrated skills and experience in rostering and service planning, including the identification, implementation and evaluation of initiatives to ensure the attainment of operational and performance targets within negotiated timeframes to maintain continual quality enhancement
  • Demonstrated experience in Medication Related Safety and Quality Initiatives and Standards and the ability to apply these to contemporary pharmacy practice.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, including the demonstrated ability to co-ordinate and develop high quality written guidelines, procedures, educational, research or business materials
  • Demonstrated abilities to gather and analyse data for financial and operational performance of the department and suggest improvement strategies
  • Proven ability and commitment to effectively role model, champion and promote teamwork, manage and develop staff, build co-operation and overcome barriers to teamwork, communication and collaboration
  • Demonstrated commitment to professional development and active participation in research, presentation or publication of research findings
  • Ability to work on call, weekends, afterhours and public holidays if required.
