The Gastroenterology Department is looking for a Deputy Director to join their committed team on a permanent basis with commencement for August 2024.

About the Role:

As the Deputy Director - Gastroenterology, you will share and complement medical leadership responsibilities of this clinical unit with the Director.

About You:

The ideal applicant will be someone who can demonstrate the following:

  • Specialist knowledge and understanding of Gastroenterology and Hepatology.
  • Proven ability to foster safe, high-quality health care, derived from sound knowledge of the concepts of patient safety, human factors and improvement.
  • Ability to demonstrate a high level of leadership, aligning with organisational values.
  • Ability to lead a positive and collaborative interdisciplinary work environment to achieve high quality person-centred care.
  • Possession of a high degree of initiative and decision-making ability, along with sound clinical knowledge, to make important and ethically informed decisions on a day-to-day basis.
  • High level communication skills with the ability to assit in leading a team, mediating concerns and facilitating problem solving between various stakeholders, counselling patients and appropriately and sensitively manage complaints from both staff members and patients.
