About the role
The Deputy Dean, Academic (DDA) will be integral to providing senior leadership and management to enhance the academic quality and reputation of the School, the experience of students, and the School's impact on its members and community. This new role will execute the strategy and operations for the Academic portfolio to continually mature ANZSOG's reputation of providing public value. With a deep understanding of research strategy, methodology and governance, and post-experience education programs (accredited and non-accredited), the DDA will develop a high performing team to drive impact, strengthen partnerships and manage stakeholder engagement in a complex and dynamic environment. Reporting to the CEO, the role is part of the Executive Team and will provide advice to the Board.
About you
You are an astute, proven leader with a nuanced understanding of the intersection between research, government and higher education. Your postgraduate teaching experience, scholarship and academic leadership is deeply engaged with public administration, public policy or similar disciplines and you have a strong network across both academia and the public service. With an outstanding publications record and affinity with applied research highly aligned with ANZSOG's focus, you are skilled in analysis and influence based on evidence. A proven leader, you inspire, motivate, and manage diverse teams and provide sound advice, in varied and useful formats. You delight in collaboration and in leading through others to create a culture of high performance and inclusiveness. With finely balanced judgement and an ability to deliver on long and short term outcomes, you see research and education as critical in contributing to ANZSOG's purpose of public leadership towards better government for better outcomes for people.
