Older Adult Community Mental Health - Fremantle Hospital and Health Service
We are seeking Consultant Psychiatrists to join our team and make a difference at the Fremantle Older Adult Community Mental Health Service.
This is a great opportunity to lead a community team providing specialized treatment and care for adults over 65 experiencing mental health, psychological and neurodegenerative disorders.
You will be working as part of a multidisciplinary team responsible for outpatient clinics and outreach services that include assessment, diagnosis and treatment of mental health conditions in older adults. Outreach services are provided to older adults living at home or in residential aged care facilities.
Additional responsibilities include providing leadership, orientation, training, supervision and education, where relevant for doctors in-training, Health Service Medical Practitioners and other health workers. In collaboration with the Service Co-Director/Head of Service and other consultants, you will work to achieve national, state and South Metropolitan Health Service (SMHS) performance standards and targets. You will also work within the scope of clinical practice as defined and recommended by the SMHS Area Medical Credentialing Committee.
This is a recruitment pool for fixed term full time appointments, with possibility of extension(s).
Suitable applicants will be placed in a pool from which appointments may be made when similar vacancies occur. Appointments may be made from this pool until 31/12/2024.
We currently have one full time fixed term full time appointment for 5 years available to be filled immediately, with the possibility of extension(s).
Fremantle Hospital Mental Health Service provides inpatient and community services to residents of Fremantle, Cockburn and Melville and offers adult services to people aged 18 to 65 years and older adult services for people over 65 years.
