About the Role

As the Commercial Finance Manager you will play a key role for elevating the business' commercial finance business partnering capability, collaborating with business leaders on identifying key metrics, providing recommendations to ultimately shape the financial strategy to ensure stability, and foster growth.

You will be responsible for the provision of high-quality commercial analysis and insights, from a revenue/ gross profit and expense perspective, driven from strategic business developments, innovation, and other investment opportunities.

You will also be responsible for supporting cashflow forecasting &
planning process, preparation of monthly CEO &
Board reports, ad hoc financial analytics, and other business functions in relation to ongoing performance of the business.

Your Focus

  • Collaborate with the leadership team to develop and execute long-term financial strategies aligned with business objectives, growth initiatives, and market dynamics.
  • Provide financial insights, analysis, and recommendations to support key business decisions, new ventures, investments, and strategic partnerships, both on a periodic and ad-hoc, proactive basis.
  • Conduct thorough financial analysis of projects, products, and markets to identify growth opportunities, cost-saving measures, and areas for operational improvement, predicting and monitoring return on investment.
  • Participate in the annual budgeting process working collaboratively cross-functionally, including zero-based budgeting.
  • Monitor the relevant areas/ projects' performance vs budget at an absolute level on a weekly and monthly basis to unpack revenue and cost variances and identify material contributors to performance (+/-) as well as performance vs assumptions on key business levers and operational metrics, articulating the main reasons and recommended actions to be taken for the leaders you'll partner with. These metrics include and are not limited to:
    unit economics, OKRs, trend analysis, ROI.
  • Promote financial literacy, enhance data led decision making and ensure alignment between financial goals and operational execution.
  • Prepare financial models including cashflow forecasts, revenue/ expense planning, including scenarios and trends.

About You

  • Extensive experience in commercial finance/ business partnering roles in professional services and dynamic corporates.
  • Advanced business acumen with the ability to understand customer, financial and operational data to make data-driven decisions.
  • Ability to articulate problem statements from ambiguous information for teams to deliver the right insights and provide actionable recommendations.
  • Prior experience within the marketing services, media, or related industries is highly advantageous.
  • Proven experience partnering with senior leaders of large organisations and effectively managing stakeholders in a complex matrix environment.
  • Ability to translate complex strategic and financial concepts for general business audiences.
  • A strategic thinker with the ability to balance short-term operational demands with longterm strategic goals.
  • Results-driven individual who can thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Solid Excel and PowerPoint skills. PowerQuery, PowerBI, Dynamics365 desirable.
