An Excellent opportunity is available to join the team in the Emergency Department at Nepean Hospital as a Clinical Nurse Specialist Grade 2 (CNS2). The successful incumbent will take on the role of Front of House Co-ordinator/Navigator. The Nurse Navigation/Front of House Coordinator role facilitates the patient journey through the Emergency Department in a timely and less restrictive manner. This position will focus on efficiencies through proactive engagement of key stakeholders and available resources.
One of the key goals of this position is to assist in meeting the Emergency Department aligned Key Performance Indicators. This position ensures support is available to multidisciplinary teams and assist in enhancing service to deliver a high standard of quality care.

What you will bring to the role:

  • Current registration to practice as a Registered Nurse (Division 1) with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Authority (AHPRA).
  • Relevant post registration qualification with at least 3 years' experience and currently practicing as a registered Nurse in an Emergency Department.
  • Demonstrated ability to organise and prioritise work, with a proven commitment and focus to achieving all Emergency Department KPIs.
  • Extensive knowledge and understanding of the Emergency Treatment Performance Target measures and associated responsibilities.
  • Demonstrated effective communication skills - written and verbal. Experience in negotiation, de-escalation and conflict resolution strategies.
  • Demonstrated commitment to professional development.
  • Ability to work a flexible roster, day, evening or night shift across all days of the week according to the unit/service requirements. Willingness to participate in a 12 hour shift roster with shift times of hrs.
  • Competent in utilisation of ED specific Information Technology programs and relevant other facility technology programs that are directly related to and influence, patient flow.
