About the role

The Clinical Neuropsychologist provides evidence-based neuropsychological assessment, consultation, education and training for the Turning Point Statewide Addiction Neuropsychology Service located within our Richmond based Turning Point offices. Turning Point is a National Addiction Treatment Centre that provides treatment, education and research with the neuropsychologist's role being embedded within the Specialist Clinical Services Team. The neuropsychologist's role is to possess advanced knowledge and skills of methods, principles and practices related to the delivery of neuropsychology assessment and interventions to consumers with co-occurring mental health, cognitive difficulty, alcohol or substance use problems and forensic issues.

About you

To be successful in this role you will possess:

Qualifications &
registration:

  • Hold a Masters or Doctoral coursework qualification in Clinical Neuropsychology that has been approved by the Psychology Board of Australia.
  • Full registration or eligibility for full registration as a Psychologist by the Psychology Board of Australia (PBA).
  • Holds endorsement, or working towards eligibility for endorsement in the Approved Area of Practice of Clinical Neuropsychology.

Skills:

  • Demonstrated competence in neuropsychological assessment and clinical case formulation that involves the integration, interpretation and reporting of data gathered during assessment, including from clinical interview and history taking, behavioural observations and administration of standardised procedures.
  • Experience in the application of clinical neuropsychology in a variety of settings.
  • Demonstrated commitment to supervised practice including the capacity to critically reflect and appraise one's own clinical practice in all current work settings.
  • Demonstrated ability to provide a responsive, efficient and high quality neuropsychology service
  • Proven ability and commitment to work collaboratively with patients, significant carers, members of multidisciplinary team and external agencies.
  • Ability to demonstrate well-developed organisational skills, including sound work practice skills and planning, and the ability to manage time, and workforce demands.
  • Effective interpersonal skills, particularly in communication, leadership and conflict management, in order to facilitate team functioning.
